So again I am a horrible wife and I did not blog about our anniversary when it came upon us about mmm... over two months ago! :( but here it is now! Yay! So we started our weekend by going down to Downtown San Diego and stayed the night at the W hotel. We were told it was a fun updated modern hotel and right when we walked in I could see this was true! As we were standing there waiting to check in, I see a guy standing next to me eating a bag of ruffles and it took me a second to realize it was Darrel from The Office! I tried to discrete and get Jeff to realize but hen he walked out and I was able to talk out loud and tell him. I said "I should have asked him for a picture" So we go on and check in then head over to the elevators to go up to our room. As we are waiting I look over and see Darrel walking over to wait next to us. and the words just come out of my mouth. "Can I get a picture with you?" He replies "oh sure" as he rubs his greasy Ruffle filled hands on his jeans. Now here is when I get REAL awkward... I say "We just bought season 7 last night" (We really did) then i throw up a peace sign!!!! All that is going through my head is YOU'RE AN IDIOT! HE'S BLACK!
(You can see the bag of Ruffles in his hand. Ha)
But he was so nice and then we enjoyed a really awkward silent elevator ride together... lets hope I don't run into any really big super stars soon... who knows what I'll do!
We then we went to our room exchanged our presents! :) Then we went out for a nice romantic dinner. Steak! Yum! We walked around the Gas Lamp district and shopped a bit, then stopped and had some oh so good ice cream at the Ghiradelli store! Double Yum! That night we also did the old 1 year anniversary tradition and ate the top of our wedding cake. I really thought it wasn't going to be all that great but Jeffrey's mom put it together for us and put a package of strawberries which ended up working out great since we didn't have any forks so we used the strawberries to eat the cake with! Oh my! It was actually really good! The next day we relaxed and of course shopped and took our time coming home.
It was a great couple of days and I am so grateful to have Jeffrey as my husband I couldn't ask for anything more! Love you Babe!
